Tamara Galeyeva graduated from the Art History Department of the Ural State University in 1977. In 2001, she received her PhD with a dissertation on the art of Boris Grigoriev. She works at the Ural University since 1987; since 2000, she was deputy dean of Art and Culture Studies, and since 2006, is dean of the faculty.
Apart from that, Tamara Galeyeva is head of the Laboratory of Art Practices, Center of Contemporary Culture, and B.U.Kashkin Old Fellow Museum – all functioning within the university.
She lectures on various topics in art history and theory, including her special course on contemporary art in Ekaterinburg, and special seminar on curating contemporary art. She is author of numerous publications on the art of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Tamara Galeyeva is member of the Russian Union of Artists, Russian Association of Art Critics, International Association of Art Critics (AICA), and Open Museum International Association.
