Marina Loshak

Curator, gallery owner, art manager, art historian, collector, and museum fellow; one of the leading curators of Russian Avant-Garde. Collects naïve art and hats.

Born on November 22, 1955 in Odessa, Ukraine. Graduated from Mechnikov State University of Odessa with a degree in Classical Philology.

Worked at Odessa State Museum of Literature, and after moving to Moscow in 1986 worked at Mayakovsky State Museum.
Since 1991 – co-founder (with Elena Yazykova and Lyubov’ Shaks) of Roza Azora Gallery.
Since 1998 – Head of PR Department at SBS-Agro Bank, then ‘Cultural Attaché’ of the bank.
1999-2003 – Director at Moscow Arts Centre in Neglinnaya Street, where she organized several exhibitions of Russian Avant-Garde.
2005-2006 – Director at Tatintsian Gallery founded by New York gallery owner Gary Tatintsian.
Since 2007 – co-founder, co-owner (with Maria Salina), and Artistic Director of Proun Gallery.
2012-2013 – Artistic Director at Manege Association of Museums and Exhibition Halls that incorporates exhibition halls ‘Manege,’ ‘New Manege,’ ‘Worker and Collective Farm Girl,’ ‘House of Chekhov,’ Museum-Studio of Dmitry Nalbandyan, and Vadim Sidur Museum.
Since 2013 – Director at Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
