Marek Bartelik

Dr. Marek Bartelik is a New York-based art critic, art historian, and poet. He holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Columbia University and a PhD in Art History from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He has taught art history and theory of art at MIT, Yale, and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York.

As an art critic, he has written on contemporary art for such publications as Artforum, Art in America, CAA Art Journal, Cultural Politics, Obieg, and Brooklyn Bridge.

Dr. Bartelik served as President of AICA – USA between 2008 and 2012, and currently is President of AICA International, an international association of art critics with the membership of 4500 in 63 national sections worldwide.
