INNOVATION 2013 Nominees' Exhibition

INNOVATION 2013 nominees’ exhibition presents 25 projects selected by the Expert Committee out of 338 applications received for the competition this year. Above that, the display includes presentations of the laureates in two out-of-competition nominations – “For the Creative Contribution to the Development of Contemporary Art” (Vladislav Mamyshev-Monroe) and “For the Support of Russian Contemporary Art” (Shalva Breus and ArtChronika Cultural Foundation).

For the first time in the history of INNOVATION, the nominees’ exhibition is hosted by two venues simultaneously: the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) and TSUM Art Foundation, Strategic Partner of the competition. The participation of TSUM Art Foundation, where works from two nominations will be on view, allows showing the nominees’ works in full scale, and bringing new audiences to the project.

Apart from that, INNOVATION 2013 nominees’ exhibition is accompanied by educational activities:
• March 26, 7:30pm – “What is INNOVATION?” roundtable at NCCA Lecture Room;
• March 27 to April 24, every Thursday at 7pm – guided tours of the nominees’ exhibition at NCCA Exhibition Room;
• April 23 – lecture by Anton Litvin “Soratnik – a prize initiated by creators of artistic process”;
• April 30 – Alexander Evangeli’s lecture about international prizes in contemporary art.

INNOVATION 2013 nominees’ exhibition will be open from March 26 through May 4, 2014 at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (13 Zoologicheskaya Street) and TSUM Art Foundation (2 Petrovka Street).
The exhibition is curated by Irina Gorlova and designed by Alexey Kononenko.

Press view will take place on March 25, 4pm, at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA).
