Winners of INNOVATION Prize 2014

Winners of INNOVATION Prize 2014:

  • in “Work of Visual Art” nomination – “Refrain,” total installation by Irina Korina (prize, diploma,
    and 800 000 rubles);
  • in “Curatorial Project” nomination – “Signal,” exhibition by Petr Belyi and Aleksandr Terebenin
    (prize, diploma, and 500 000 rubles);
  • in “Art Theory and Criticism” nomination – “The Collective Sensibility: Theories and Practices
    of the Left Avant-Garde,” monograph by Igor Chubarov
    , and “The Islands of Yuri Sobolev,” research publication by Anna Romanova and Galina Metelichenko (prize, diploma, and 500 000 rubles, which will be divided equally between the two winners);
  • in “Regional Project of Contemporary Art” nomination – “Nizhe Nizhnego: The Latest Experience
    in the Volga Region Ethnography,” travelling exhibition by Evgeny Strelkov and Andrey Suzdalev
    (prize, diploma, and 400 000 rubles);
  • in “New Generation” nomination – “The Death of Tarelkin,” multimedia performance by Evgeniya Dolinina, Vera Konyashova, Roman Kutnov, Alexander Leshchev, Gleb Nechyaev, Marina Ragozina, and Maria Sokol (prize, diploma, and 200 000 rubles).

Laureates in out-of-competition nominations:

  • Andrey Monastyrsky, artist – “For the Creative Contribution to the Development of Contemporary Art” (prize, diploma, and 600 000 rubles);
  • Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director General of the State Hermitage Museum – “For the Support of Russian Contemporary Art” (prize and diploma).

Laureates of special prizes from the partners of INNOVATION Prize:

  • prize from “U-Art: You and Art” Culture and Charity Foundation – “The Collective Sensibility: Theories and Practices of the Left Avant-Garde,” monograph by Igor Chubarov (special prize, diploma,
    and money reward);
  • prize from the Embassy of France in Russia and Institut Français – “Celebration,” video by Polina Kanis (three-month residency at Cité des Arts in Paris);
  • prize from Stella Art Foundation – “Celebration,” video by Polina Kanis (trip to the 56th Biennale
    of Contemporary Art in Venice).


Exhibition of the nominees for INNOVATION Prize 2014 is open through May 3, 2015, at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA): 13 Zoologicheskaya Street, Moscow.
