Lectures by Masha Dantsis
Lectures “Exhibition strategies for artists" aim to analyze exhibitions, consider them as a field for experimental and participatory activity. In the theoretical part of lectures different aspects of exhibition process, from idea of exhibition and choice of space to archivation and mediation, will be presented. In the discussions participants will be given an opportunity to find their own method of working with space, discuss new forms of presentation and also design together a concept of a mobile exhibition system.
Masha Dantsis – associate professor at Berlin School of Art and Design, video artist. She was born in Leningrad, studied at the Faculty of Film Directing at the Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts. She graduated from the Academy of Arts in Kassel, Faculty of Visual Arts. At Berlin University of the Arts she studied presentation of video installations. In her works the artist explores impact of mass-media culture on life of humans, their feelings, and their relationship with society. At Berlin School of Art and Design she teaches theory and practice of contemporary visual art. Nominee of “Art Cinema Biennale" (Cologne, 2007) and Documentary Film Festival in Kassel (2005, 2009); winner of the German multidisciplinary artists competition by Columbus Art Foundation (2010, Leipzig). Took part in the exhibitions in Germany, Spain, UK and Russia.
