“CONTEMPORARY VIDEO ART. BODY AS AN OBJECT OF ART”

Shahar Marcus (born 1971) is an interdisciplinary artist who works primarily in video, performance and sculpture. His works are famous worldwide and were exhibited in Palais de Tokyo (Paris, France), Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art (Hiroshima, Japan), Tel Aviv Museum of Art (Tel Aviv, Israel), Tate Modern (London, UK). His video “Curator” was part of the “Ekphrasis” exhibition held at the State Hermitage in December, 2014 – February, 2015. At the lecture in the Hermitage Shahar Marcus will speak about artist’s body as an object of contemporary art, contemporary practices in video art and performance and also show his new video works.

The lecture will be held in English with translation into Russian.
