The exhibition 'Foolproof Feelings' marks the 20th anniversary of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the National Center for Contemporary Art. The project is organized by the strategic partners: NCCA Volga-Vyatka Branch incorporated into ROSIZO and ‘The Cultural Capital of the Volga Region’ Foundation supported by SDV Arts & Science Foundation. Since May 2017 the cofounder of SDV Arts & Science, businessman and philanthropist Dmitry Volkov, became new chairman of the Supervisory Board for ‘The Cultural Capital of the Volga Region’ Foundation.
‘Out of all cultural organizations and initiatives, my acquaintance with the Arsenal became one of the most unusual and memorable. While taking part in the ‘Secret Millionaire’ reality show for the Friday TV channel, I volunteered at this museum and saw its huge potential from the inside – the potential of its projects and of its staff. This is why I agreed to chair the Supervisory Board with great pleasure, as its goal is to support contemporary art in Russia, and in particular the activities of the Center for Contemporary Art in Nizhny Novgorod’, commented Dmitry Volkov.
SDV Arts & Science Foundation, created with the support of SDVentures Internet Holding, implements its own creative initiatives and supports key initiatives of the leading cultural institutions, where modern technologies interact with art and science.
‘Foolproof Feelings’ is a space of relationship between viewers, artworks, artists, historical and cultural context of Nizhny Novgorod. The exhibition does not have any strict thematic limitation, it shows a set of artistic situations and possible experiences of perceiving separate artworks. During the exhibition the Arsenal halls will turn into a park with pavilions and paths where every visitor can find his or her own routes. The exhibition will present over 30 Russian and foreign authors: paintings, drawings, sculpture and installations from the ROSIZO and private collections. Lars Cuzner and Cassius Fadlabi (Norway), Matthieu Martin (France) and ZIP Artgroup (Krasnodar) will create artworks specially for the exhibition.
