WRO 2013 Pioneering Values On Tour – selection of works and documentations from the WRO 2013 Biennale.

Introduction by Piotr Krajewski. a curator, co-founder of WRO Center for Media Art and artistic director of WRO International Media Art Biennale (since 1989), and a producer of television programmes on art and media culture for Polish TV. He writes extensively on history and aesthetics of new media and most recently he co-edited From monument to market, video art and public space (WRO Center of Media Art, 2005). He regularly acts as a jury member of international media art events, is a Member of AICA (International Arts Critics Association), Member of the Polish Society of Aesthetics, a visiting professor at the Department of Theory of Culture at the Wroclaw University, Poland, and a Member of the Programming Advisory Board for the development of the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

WRO Media Art Biennale is one of the leading international art events in Central Europe. Its 15th edition acknowledged the 50th anniversary of electronic art and was build around the concept of Pioneering Values – artistic and cultural values ​​that emerged and continue to emerge in the field of new media art. WRO 2013 Pioneering Values ​​On Tour selection was made amongst the curatorial programs and Biennale’s submissions, and ranges from the post video-art, exquisite visual compositions and formal experiments, through documentation of multimedia performances and interactive installations, to projects touching upon the social and cultural significance of the present-day modes of communication.
