The Joseph Beuys Theater presents the artist’s manifesto, “Appeal for an Alternative,” for the first time in Russian. In his manifesto, Beuys appeals to the society: “Before considering the question “What can we do?” we have to look into the question “How must we think?” This text is not only an artistic manifesto but also a social statement. The manifesto in which the artist seemingly rejects the artistic gesture regains artistic shape in the interactive theater.
The event is held as part of the Joseph Beuys. Appeal for an Alternative exhibition (MMOMA, Gogolevsky Boulevard 10).
