Music of the Book. Russia–Germany/Austria
10.04.2012, 19:00 Tuesday
Program: [Context of the visual]
Place: National Centre for Contemporary Arts, the small hall
The exhibition project “Music of the Book” continues the international program “12+12”, dedicated to the presentation and research of the phenomenon of “the artist's book”. In the framework of this program NCCA has already displayed such projects as “Future of Paper” (Russia–Ukraine) and “Sons of the Sea (Seasons)” (England–Russia). An artist's book allows for combination of various art fields on its pages. The current project aims to build a dialogue between the book and music. On the one hand it entails an attempt to create a musical accompaniment for a book construction, on the other hand – to visualize musical images.
At the presentation of the project Mikhail Pogarsky will give a lecture entitled “The artist's book: Russia and Germany”.
