Program: [Context of the visual]

Included in: [Russian Diaries]

Place: National Centre for Contemporary Arts, the small hall

Coordinator: [Aliya Berdigaliyeva]

Moderator: [Svetlana Pakhomova]

In connection with the growth of public self consciousness and organized mass protest actions, there is now a need for a conversation on new forms of inclusion of visual works in the social communication process. Traditionally, socially oriented art served the interest of politics (in one way or another). However, today the situation with the visual and information environment is much more complicated. Who informs what and for whom – that is the question that calls for an answer.

The round table organized by Generation LEX will examine the issues of visual communication in society, while a parallel social poster exhibition will illustrate the impact of visual language on the public.

Organizer: Generation LEX

Co-organizer: NCCA
