The cycle of meetings “Artists From the Collection” is planned to be an attempt to understand the history of contemporary art and the artistic work in a light of certain artworks.

Meeting with Vladimir Bashlykov will be held as part of the exhibition of his artworks from the NCCA collection. V. Bashlykov was born in 1943 in the village of Kamenka, Khmelnytskaya region (Ukraine) and studied at Moscow 1905 Memorial Arts School and Moscow Textile Institute at the Faculty of Applied Arts, at the moment he lives and works in Moscow.

Working in the techniques of painting, pastels, dry point and others, he creates a special visual world centered on the universal human figure, which is the element of the stroke and color. The exhibition will feature paintings and graphics of the second half of the 1990’s, as well as new works by the artist.
