Kazimir Malevich. Self-portrait, 1930

The Kazimir Malevich Foundation, organized in 1991, celebrates its twentieth anniversary. During those two decades, the Foundation had conducted more than 20 international exhibitions, among which the «Europe – Europe» (1994, Warsaw, Bonn) took a special place. The Foundation regularly promotes the ideas and discoveries of Russian avant-garde, participates in international conferences and publications related to Malevich oeuvre. The Foundation's activities are not limited to the study of historically limited culture frames, its practices includes the problems of context and comparative analysis of the classical avant-garde and its tradition in contemporary art process.

The history and present days, theory and actual art practices – these problems are reflected in the «0.10» magazine, published by the Foundation. Along with theoretical investigations the Foundation consults on historical documents and expertise related to the culture of 1910-1920's.

The Foundation has a broad relationship with such institutions as the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Museum Ludwig (Cologne), The State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), The State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg).

During the workshop the films about the work of Kazimir Malevich and his role in contemporary culture will be shown; the unpublished manuscripts by the founder of Suprematism will be exhibited.
