The festival, held annually at NCCA, will open with a project by Arthur Elsenaar (Netherlands). The main theme of the "VideoFocus" festival this year will be "Anti-narrative." Exhibition projects of the festival will be devoted to the method of deconstruction of narrative in video and media art. Contemporary video and media artists will be offered a variety of possibilities for using new aesthetic techniques and tools of visual texts. The festival features video works by artists from four countries - Austria, the Netherlands, Germany and Russia. The festival takes place at four sites: the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA), Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA), at Centre for Creative Industries "Fabrika", and the A.V. Shchusev State Museum of Architecture. The festival is accompanied by an extensive parallel program. For anyone interested in contemporary visual culture, the theme of "Antinarrative" will be first presented in Russia so widely for the first time.

The NCCA, which will open the festival, will present a video work of the Dutch artist Arthur Elsenaar, Face Shift. It is a work of algorithmic facial choreography, when both sides of the face are controlled by electrical stimulation of the facial muscles.

At the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) Sascha Pohle (Germany-Netherlands) will show his video installation Statues Also Die, where an objects appears as a true conductor of meanings, existing as both a work of art and as a consumer product.

At the Arthouse hall of CCI "Fabrika" viewers will see the film by Austrian artists Roswitha Schuller and Markus Hanakam, HOUSING & HEALING. Artists are criticizing the system of interaction between the object and the author. The author, who is always emasculated to the role of the interpreter of the events taking place around him, is converted to an object in the process.

The Museum of Architecture will present the work Structured Spaces by Russian artist Vladimir Logutov, exploring the theme of global catastrophe, the state of emptiness, in which the artist and the viewer are immersed.

The parallel program of the festival will include:
• meetings with exhibitors,
• discussion with the curator of the festival and leading critics,
• a series of lectures devoted to the stages of development of video and media art.
